How we help
Our Mission
Our mission is to champion action through evidence-based insights toward the best standard of care for chronic respiratory disease, with a focus on COPD and Severe Asthma.
The Respiratory Health Initiative (RHI) is a comprehensive platform designed to support stakeholders dedicated to addressing the global challenge of chronic respiratory diseases. These conditions affect hundreds of millions of people across the globe, underscoring the critical need for targeted interventions and informed policymaking.
Utilising both publicly accessible and pioneering data sources, the RHI is committed to generating valuable insights that enhance stakeholder decision-making and refine strategies for managing chronic respiratory diseases. At the core of the initiative's tools are the COPD Index and the Severe Asthma Index. These indices provide a comparative analysis of over 30 countries, shedding light on different national approaches to managing these diseases. The data helps stakeholders pinpoint crucial policy and healthcare priorities, ultimately aiming to boost both the efficacy of health systems and patient outcomes.
Beyond these indices, the RHI delves deeper with extensive country-specific reports. These reports offer nuanced perspectives on effective practices in respiratory care, suggesting actionable steps for nations to elevate the quality and accessibility of treatments.
Furthermore, the RHI serves as a collaborative platform, fostering a network among various stakeholders and allied initiatives. This network is designed to catalyse advocacy and implement strategies that alleviate the burden of chronic respiratory diseases globally. Through shared knowledge and cooperative efforts, the RHI aspires to initiate substantial health improvements, making a profound impact on the lives of millions suffering from these chronic conditions.
